Even though you will have at least one person with you when doing Street Care volunteering, you always want to let someone else know where you’re going.
The closest you should be to a homeless person while doing street outreach is just to hand them the bag. If they ask you to place the bag near you, then do that.
When you start interacting with someone, sometime early on in your conversation you may find a person not communicating in the way that most people do.
When you’re performing street outreach, we strongly suggest carrying an ID (such as a driver’s license or school ID) and a printout of Street Care info and emergency contact info.
