I’d like to introduce a few little tips for stress reduction, helping to reduce anxiety and to create a bit more energy and a feeling of well-being in ourselves. So, first of all, to bring some energy to the body, I’d like us to just feel our hands, when we’re tense our hands will tense right up.
So, let’s just feel what that feels like when we do that, and then let’s try to release it and let go with the breath going out. So, it’s like we’re gathering up lots and lots of things in our hands, holding on to them, and then holding very very tight, through the whole body and then breathing out and letting go of everything. Like just dropping it all, okay.
So, we do that a few times, and then, we can just shake it all out, so there’s no more tension left in the arms, shoulders, and the head. Just shake it out, and feel your breathing. Breathing in and out as you shake, just like you’ve got water on your fingertips, flick it all off. All that tension comes out of the fingertips.
You can go above the head and then down the head, and then just slowly shush. We just quiet the mind, quieting things down, breathing in and shushing. Bringing everything down like feathers or leaves in the fall. Just slowly, slowly falling to the ground, and the breeze coming up as we breathe in, and then all the leaves are just falling to the ground.
Flex and release hands to de-stress and energize.
Shake out tension through hands and upper body.
Breathe slowly to calm things.
