When you’re approaching homeless people, if possible, aim to help on deeper levels. One important thing is to notice people’s oral health. Lack of routine dental care is very common on the streets, and can lead to severe decay and eventual serious health conditions, including heart infections. 

Also,if someone can’t chew properly due to missing teeth, there is a good chance they won’t get adequate nutrition in their diet, which of course, will lead to other health issues. And missing teeth or tooth decay makes it harder for these people to return to mainstream society. Please help them if you can. 

Sharing care bags that contain toothbrush and toothpaste or healthy gum can start a conversation about their teeth. But be very respectful about it, and immediately stop discussing if they seem unhappy to hear about this. 

People need your help, and there may be facilities in the area that help homeless people get proper dental care. Sharing info, or just nudging them in the right direction, could benefit them immensely.
